Job Title: Director of Finance
Position Reporting
This position is part of Sunday Cool-Executive Team reporting to the Vice President
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday: 8:30am – 5:00pm [40 hours/week]. Overtime may be required based on workload and production demands. This position will likely have overtime or weekend work during the peak of our spring conference season, where we attend 3-4 conferences promoting the Sunday Cool brand between January - April.
Compensation
$105,000 annually, commensurate with experience and skills

We’re seeking a faith-driven, results-minded executive who can blend strategic financial oversight with operational and human resource leadership, serving as our Director of Finance. As a key catalyst for transformation, you’ll help us scale beyond $18 million in revenue by creating high-performance teams, streamlining processes, optimizing our supply chain, and cultivating a thriving workplace culture. You’ll champion our commitment to Business as a Ministry—honoring God, loving our people, and serving those who serve—while driving accountability, efficiency, and innovation across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide strategic financial and operational counsel to the Vice President and executive leadership team.
- Lead and develop the Finance, HR, and Supply Chain teams, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and mission.
- Drive long-term planning, forecasting, and company-wide KPI development.
- Champion a culture of transparency, stewardship, innovation, and continuous improvement across departments.
- Participate in executive-level decision-making, offering data-informed insights and risk assessment.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings in compliance with GAAP.
- Oversee preparation of financial statements, dashboards, internal reporting, and audit readiness.
- Maintain robust internal controls and uphold financial policies aligned with company values and regulatory standards.
- Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and external financial partners.
Supply Chain & Inventory Oversight
- Provide oversight for inventory planning, procurement, and vendor management strategy.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain Analyst to monitor and optimize cost of goods sold (COGS), inventory turns, and demand forecasting accuracy.
- Lead strategic vendor negotiations to enhance pricing, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste and improve sourcing consistency.
Human Resources Leadership
- Oversee the development and execution of HR strategy, including talent acquisition, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations.
- Partner with the HR Administrator/Manager to foster a values-driven, mission-aligned workplace culture.
- Ensure policies and procedures align with legal requirements and company standards.
- Support leadership development, performance management, succession planning, and organizational structure review.
Operational Finance
- Evaluate profitability and financial viability across product lines, services, and initiatives.
- Lead process optimization efforts across financial, HR, and supply chain systems (e.g., Salesforce, Accounting Seed).
- Develop financial models to support strategic decisions, capital investment, and growth initiatives.
- Monitor financial risk and ensure regulatory compliance in all operational areas.
Organizational Budgeting & Departmental Leadership
- Lead the creation, management, and monitoring of the company’s master budget, in collaboration with department heads.
- Track and report departmental spending against targets; identify variances and recommend corrective action.
- Conduct regular 1:1s with direct reports to foster alignment, accountability, and professional growth.
- Direct hiring, onboarding, coaching, and—when necessary—termination processes for Finance, HR, and Supply Chain teams.
- Guide department heads on performance management practices and leadership development.
- Design and implement scalable internal policies and procedures that drive operational consistency.
- Actively collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Marketing to ensure cross-functional alignment and financial transparency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in finance/accounting, with leadership responsibility
- Prior oversight or experience in human resources and supply chain preferred
- Strong financial systems knowledge (Excel, Salesforce, Accounting Seed)
- Proven ability to lead high-performing, cross-functional teams
- Deep understanding of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Alignment with Sunday Cool’s mission and faith-driven workplace
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, apparel, or promotional products industries
- Familiarity with faith-based or family-owned business cultures
- Proven success in vendor negotiations and cost reduction
- Experience scaling finance and HR functions in a growing company

During the first 90 days we will be equipping you with the necessary resources and training you specifically for the above position. Sunday Cool has a 90-day probationary period for all new employees, which includes a 30, 60 & 90-day feedback meeting with your direct leadership team to gain helpful insight, glean new perspectives, discuss positive performance, and address any areas needing improvement. Before the conclusion of your probationary period, you will be tested on the Art Department-provided handbook, policies and procedures, as well as products to qualify you. All staff artists are required to pass with a 95% or above to qualify as an employee of Sunday Cool. Sunday Cool, LLC reserves the right to terminate the employment of any employee at any time without notice and without payment in lieu of notice, subject to the laws of the State of Florida.
We pay biweekly (Every other week) on Fridays. Pay is based on eighty standard hours per pay period and Sunday Cool has 26 pay periods/year.
Sunday Cool is a drug-free workplace. The company reserves the right to conduct drug testing on all employees. In the event of a workplace accident the impacted employee will be required to be tested for drugs.
